What We Do
Our aim is to make a positive difference to the quality of life of people with disabilities, health and mental health issues.
We are an independent voluntary organisation and our staff includes both paid employees and volunteers.
Our area of operation includes
Torbay, Teignbridge and the South Hams.
We are people with:-
Physical, sensory or learning disabilities, mental health conditions, long term health conditions, older people whose abilities have changed, carers and friends.
Our aim is to use our knowledge and experience to deliver services that will make a difference
Our principles are based on people working together to encourage independence, empowerment and respect.

Volunteers
Sometimes we have the need for a volunteer with the right skills to help in our office.
Independence through Information and Support
Free services for you starting with a friendly welcome and a listening ear. Our services aim to offer; INFORMATION about other organisations that can support you and how to contact them; BENEFIT SUPPORT including form filling (PIP, UC, ESA etc), appeals, mandatory reconsiderations, work capability assessment; HOUSING SUPPORT including internet searches, contact with landlords, utility companies and so on.

The office is open to visitors. We also have a service dog on site, if this is an issue for you, please let us know so we can accommodate your needs.

Funding
At the end of June 2026 our Lottery Funding finishes. We have succeeded in bidding for grants from the Lloyds Bank Foundation and the Claire Milne Trust but these will only keep us going for a very short time. Every penny counts so your DONATIONS are very welcome. All the money donated is spent on delivering services e.g. staff wages and centre running costs. Just click top right on this page or if you prefer drop into our hub next to Torquay Library. We are open Monday to Thursday from 10 am to 4 pm where you donate by cash, cheque or card.
